I need better instructions than what's in the game box. The YouTube videos show various ways to handle playing a higher card on the stack.
► I've seen some YouTube videos where a player adds card(s) to a set that's not on top of the stack. I believe this is incorrect. Can you clarify this for me? The only time you can play other cards from the stack is to "tap" each number. For example, if the stack has one 12, two 11s, and two 10s, and you have two 11s in your hand, you can tap those, making four 11s. If you also have three 12s, you can play the 12s, tap the stack, and only the 10s go into your hand. I hope this clarifies things. If you need more help, feel free to call us at 208-656-5767. If we don't answer, leave a message and we'll call you back. 😊
► When I play a card higher than the top card, I have to pick up the stack. Am I allowed to place matching cards from the stack back on top along with the card I played? When you play a higher card than what's on the stack, you have to take all the cards in the stack and put them in your hand. For example, if the top card is a 10, with another 10 and two 11s below it, you can play your two 11s. Since they are higher than the 10s, you'd have to take the stack into your hand. However, because there are two other 11s, you can play them, tap the stack, and only the other cards go into your hand. Now you can play whatever card you want, including the 10s.
Hi. Thanks for the fun game! we got it last night after a recommendation from our cousin. There are a few parts of the rules that are vague. Do you have more detailed instructions, like the image of the handwritten ones? Some areas we seek clarity.
►"Tap In" cards, say they must be played "alone" under the "must note". Let's say player one puts down a single 10, but not sure if the player could put down two 10s (totaling 3), then puts a "Tap In", clears the stack, then puts down three 5s, then "Tap In" again, clear stack, then play two 4s. When it's your turn, if you choose to play 10s, you can play one or all of your 10s. It's your strategic call. Let's say you put down 3 tens. Your play is then over. Now let's say player 2 puts down 2 5s. Player 3 puts down one 1. Then it's your turn. If you want to clear the pile with a "Tap In" card, you can as this "TAP IN" card is played alone with no other cards to add. Then you proceed. You cannot put down cards and a "Tap In" card. Either you play the "Tap In" card OR other cards, not in conjunction.
►Also there is some uncertainty around when you can or can't play Face Down cards. If I uncovered a Face Down card the prior round, and the player before me puts down one 5. I then wish to play two 5s from my hand, and I flip over my Face Down card, and it's a 3, can I put the three on the three 5s in the pile since it is lower? If there are two 5s last played and it's your turn; if you flip up a 5 you must play it. Then play goes to the next player. However, if you had turned over a 9, the 9 stays and the other cards go in your hand. If by chance there are 9s in that stack, you CAN use them at this time.
Anytime you flip up the down card, it MUST be played. If it's higher you pick up all the cards in the stack. If it's lower, (plus if you have any like cards you can play them too) you leave them and play continues to the next player.
► Example 1: I start by playing two 12s from my hand the next player has a 12 in their hand but plays two 11s instead. Does that player have to play the 12 if they have it or can they play anything lower if they want? A player lays down two 4s the next player has lower cards in their hand but decides to play a 12 on top of the 4s to “take the pile” and puts the two 4s in their hands and places the 12 down in play. Is this legal, even if the player could have played a lower card from their hand? Can they purposely take the pile to get rid of higher cards?
Example: Does a player have to play all their cards that are matching at once? Example: player plays 2 4s then I have in my hand 5 2s can I play 4 2s and keep the one 2 in hand to keep for later or do I have to play all my 2s if I play 2s. Thanks. How you play is totally up to you. For example, if 12s are played, followed by 11s, and then 4s, you can add to the 12s or 11s to make a set of 4 or more and tap them out. The remaining cards go into your hand, and you can end your turn by playing any card from your hand.
Near the end, I sometimes notice what the next player has showing. If I see a 5, I might throw down a 4, so they have to pick up all the cards when forced to play that 5. Try to keep the 1s as long as possible—they can be useful to mess with the next player.
Ultimately, it's your choice what to play from your set of cards. Play all your cards of the same number or hold some back. Strategize your way!
